Scan Folders Plugin

The main Change for this Release is the advanced Scan Folders Plugin. You can still use it for the Task you know from previous SimPE Versions (like Changing age, category of Clothes, Make Items EP Ready, Scan for duplicate GUIDs and corrupted Files).

In Addition you can now make an arbitrary Skin package an override for one of the four Base Skins. The new Scan Folders plugin also contains a Neighborhood Scanner, which can resolve UID conflicts that normally result in missing Neighborhoods in the Neighborhood Selection Screen of your Game.

The Scan Folders Plugin also features an advanced System that will Identify the Type of your Package Files in the Scaned Folder, and allow you to scan Folders Recursively. All Results are stored in a Cache, so the second Scan of a Folder will be much faster!

I also added a SLOT Editor and advanced the GUI for cTrsnaformNode Block in Scenegraph Resources.

Here is a complete List of changes: 

  • Added Object Listing to Wants & Fears Editor
  • Neighborhood/Memory Plugin uses the Cache now
  • Neighborhood/Memory Plugin List all available Memory Blocks now (in a DropDown List above the Sim Listing)
  • Sim Description RAW Editor (accessible thru the more Button on the Extended Tab). This Editor lists all available Values that are stored within a Sim Description File.
  • University Tab on the Sim Description should now list the Major GUID
  • Scan Folders Plugin was Extended. It uses the Cache now, and is able to identify the Type of a Package more accurately.
  • The Clothes Scanner in "Scan Folders" will now show a Listing of all assigned Ages/Categories for each scanned package
  • The Compression Scanner can now identify packages that are stored in an older Format (original BodyShop Items).
  • The University-Ready Scanner knows three states now. Ok (which means this Package should work), NotEpReady (which means that this package is probably a non Ep-Ready Custom Object/Recolor) and Undetermined (which means that SimPE was unable to give a clear statement about that package)
  • the getGuid Dialog is more Tolerant now
  • SimPE is using the groups.cache file to find the group Replacements for local Groups (-1)
  • Export .obj will now add the .obj extension automatically to the filename
  • Added a wrapper for Id Number Files (which determine a unique ID for each Neighborhood File)
  • Added a "Fix Nieghborhood uid" ToolPlugin as Part of the Scan Folders Plugin. You may want to use this if suddenly some of your Neighborhoods disappear from the Neighborhoods Selection in the game (but you have to have a backup of all your Neighborhoods before using this tool!)
  • Extra->Options is displaying a Message when the Nvidia DDS Utilities are not accessible by SimPE
  • Scan Folders Plugin can now scan recursive
  • Fixed a Bug that was responsible for a Deadlock in the OW
  • The Sim Description Wrapper is now more tolerant against corrupted Files
  • Added a new Scanner (Skintone Scanner), which will enable you to make an arbitrary skintone a replacement for one of the original SkinTones (light, normal, medium and dark). This means, that all Sims in all Neighborhoods that had the Selected SkinTone will get the new one. Simply select the Skin package, go to the Operations Tab (scroll down to the Bottom) and click on "create default Skin override" Button.  SimPE will create a new package File, that will enable the override.  Deleting this File will restore the Default skin.

  • SimPE is now using the EP-Ready Version 1per Default, but you can still turn on Version 2
  • Only the CEP File in the downloads Folder is scanned by Default from now on. You can change the scanned Folders in Extra->Options, so if you need SimPE to scan the Downloads Folder again, you need to add it in the Extra->Options Dialog.
