Sim Editors
This new Release of SimPE features the long overdue makeover of the Sim Description/Family Ties Editor. The new Versions of Both are only available in the new GUI. Check the Home-Page for Screenshots.
From now on we Include the "SimAnticy Editor" by PLJones as an additional Plugin in all SimPE Releases. At the Moment this Plugin contains new Versions of the BHAV and TTAB Editors which are way better than the original ones included in SimPE. If the new Plugins do not Load, make sure the are first in the Plugins Section of Extra->Preferences… .
A new Details Dock is now Available in the Windows Menu. It Displays the most important Informations about Loaded object packages or Neighborhoods.
Along with this, we also included a new Dockable ObjectWorkshop (also available form the Windows Menu).
Besides that I did fix some minor Bugs, like Problems with the Resource Loading. Here is a complete List of Changes:
- Changed the GraphControl used by the SceneGrapher. The new Control is faster when drawing, so I enabled Bezier Connectors by default.
- Added a Tools and Windows Toolbar to the new GUI (right click on the Main Menu to make the new Toolbars visible)
- Added a completley new Family Ties Plugin to SimPe, which is only avialble in the new GUI!!!. In order to add a new Item to an existing Family Tie, you simply right click on a Sim in the Sim Pool on the left and click the Add Button. SimPE is also checking for consitent Familie Ties, which means, if you make a Sim the Child of another, the Family Tie for the Child will automatically adjusted to be a Parent Relation.
- Fixed a Bug in the Version Check routine
- Fixed Bug in Fix Integrity
- Changed the Package core, which should speed up the loading ob big Package files in the new GUI. (By Default the loading in the Background is deactivated!)
- Included a Dockable ObjectWorkshop (you can enable it in the Windows Menu). The Loading of the dockable OW uses multiple Threads to load the Object List, so this should speed up the Loading Time on Systems with HyperThreading or multiple Cores.
- Windowed OW is now using the new Object loader from the dockable one
- Added a SemiGlobal Group Filter back to the Filter Dock
- Added a "Details" Dock, which should display Informations about the currently opened Object/Neighborhood
- Added a better Exception handler for the startup Routine of SimPe, that should help diagnosting the "Application has generated an Exception" Messages
- Added a check for a valid settings File on SimPe Startup.
- Added two tools to trace Errors. Validator.exe will check the File Versions of the installed Libraries against the ones distributed with the package (stored in Data elease.nfo), NET Test.exe is a simple tool to verify that .NET is working properly. You can read about them in this Thread.
- The Docking System had to be Upgraded to a new Version, this means that SimPe will reset all Layouts for you
- New 3D Preview Control
- Fixed the Neighborhood package determination
- New StatusBar, that should replace the WaitingScreen in the Long run
- Fixed the Dock size restriction (which is now the Screen Width instead of the default 500 Pixel)
- Added a new Sim Relation Wrapper
- Added a new Sim Description Editor (SDE, Sdesc Wrapper). The Sim Listing on the Relatins Tab is seperated in ther groups. Relations (Sims the current one has a Relation to), Unknown Relations (Sims with a Relation that were not found in the package) and Sim Pool (all Sims without a Relation ship to the current one). You can Add/Remove Relations by right clicking on the Sim List on the left.
- Added PLJoness Simantics Editor Plugins to the Release Packages
- Added the Unknown NPCs to the Sim Name Provider (thansk to TazzMann). Loading of those additional names is activated by default, however you can turn it off in order to save Time under Extra->Preferences->Scenegraph: Deep Search
- using .packagedisabled for disabled packages from now on (simpedis is still recognized by SimPE, thanks to TazzMann)
- WOS is now using the same ObjectLoader as the regular OW
- Fixed Bug when Replacing a Tab in the Plugin View
We Receebtly uploaded a few Files to the SimPE Repository, which should help you to translate SimPE as easy as possible. You can read more about translating SimPE in this Thread.
This will be the last SimPE Release before the European start of Nightlife which is due on the 15th of September. So enjoy your Summer Break.
