Fences
The biggest Addition to SimPe in this Release certainly is the Support of Fences (along with Roofs, Terrainbs, Floors and Wallpapers) in the ObjectWorkshop.
Cloning them basically works the same as with every other normal Object, but creating Recolors and assigning GUIDs is a bit diffrent.
I have published a short Tutorial explaining how you create a Remeshe/Recolored Fence using the ObjectWorkshop. (If you like the Fence from the thumbnail, you can download it from MTS2 ). However: YOU CAN NOT CREATE FENCE RECOLORS WITH WizardsOfSimPE!! Also keep in mind, that this might not work with all available Fences yet!
SimPe got a new Dock as well. The Resource Finder Dock can be used to search (within the FileTable) for RCOL Items, and for Text Lists. Which is especially handy when manually cloning stuff.
There were also some BugFixes regarding the Mesh Importer (Bed Clones for example do not crash the game anymore, thanks to Graphnolia and Numenor). Another Bug was fixed regarding Filetype Wrappers which can only open a single instance at once (like the Sim Description Editor), which was causing Sims to disapear from your Neighborhood in some cases.
We also started to work on the Memory Performance of SimPE. The first (few) changes are available in this Release (saving up to 50% Memory (depending on the System and used Scanner) when using the Scan Folders Plugin)
A last word concerning Nightlife: The EP is available from the 15th of September here in Germany, so until then SimPE will probably not support Neighborhoods created/changed with Nightlife.
So far we do not know, what triggers the Custom Object Warning of the new Expansion. This is something we can only test when we got our own copies. We might be able to find a workaround for it.
Update 0.48b:
This Release fixes some minor Bugs. OW can now load Fences in non English Windows Systems. The Mesh Exporter can now handle binary Mesh Formats, and an Exception in the Detail Dock was fixed, which was thrown whenever SimPe was unable to find the catalog Description for a Fence.
