Why can SimPE not get a GUID?

A possible error message may be: The remote name could not be resolved: 'sims.ambertation.de'

The most common cause for this is a desktop firewall or an overeager virus protection software. Especially Norton (Internet Security) is known to cause problems.

Solution: You have to grant SimPE internet access in your security-software. Due to the number of possible products we are not able to give more specific instructions here. Please refer to your software's manual.

Two other reasons that will cause this error are if the user has used up their block of GUIDs or has just created a new GUID Database account and has not added a new block of GUIDs.

Solution: Using Add GUIDS simple add another block of GUIDs (each block will give you 255 GUIDS) or if you just created a new database account then add your initial block. Creation of the database account does not automatically give you any GUIDs.
